Restore iPod Classic.

My iPod not functioning. Message is "…in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes." Given 3 choices; eject iPod, Check for update, Restore iPod. My question is, as in formatting media, will I lose content; i.e., playlists if I do Restore?

Thank you.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.1), FCE 4.0.1

Yes, as long as your problem is not related to hardware (like a faulty hard drive), the iPod is erased and usable (like when it came out of the box). If your songs and playlists exist in your iTunes library, you should set it up to use automatic syncing (set it to Sync Music), if "reenter all my songs and playlists" means you were previously using the Manually manage setting.
